VODA A/S CUSTOMER CASES

VODA’s Primary Tasks

We have a broad customer segment, and our services comprise many different tasks. The cases presented below give examples of our competencies converted into specific solutions.

CASE 1 – FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT, SERVICING AND PROJECTS

Fjernvarme Fyn

Since 2018, VODA and Fjernvarme Fyn have had a co-operative partnership whereby we, among other things, assist with annual inspection of the waste-fired combustion lines at Fynsværket and provide service and maintenance of boiler pressure parts and combustion equipment.

The customer’s statement:

  • VODA was very actionable and solution-oriented.
  • VODA was focused on adhering to the time schedule and despite the challenges encountered along the way, the project finished on time because of VODA’s flexible and agile approach to the work.
  • Since the ECO replacement in 2019, we have broken one record after another when it comes to the amount of combusted waste and energy recovery.

CASE 2 – CO-OPERATION AGREEMENT

Returkraft AS

In early 2019, VODA and Returkraft started a productive partnership with the aim of obtaining a safer and more efficient operation of the plant; the co-operation has been successful and to the full satisfaction of both parties. The task now is to take advantage of the relationship and the experience gained to provide even greater benefits for the customer.

  • VODA has performed plant inspection including maintenance of pressurised parts, combustion equipment, and slag systems.
  • VODA is a sparring partner for Returkraft regarding the maintenance strategy of the plant.
  • The co-operation agreement provides Returkraft with a clear overview of time schedules and task prioritization.
  • Returkraft benefits from a cooperative partnership with VODA working proactively and jointly to create the best possible preconditions for optimization and streamlining where it makes sense and adds value.
CASE 3 – Biomass conversion – From coal to wood chip

Tekniska Verken Linköping AB

Boiler 1 at Tekniska Verken in Linköping was originally build in 1964 and rebuilt in 1985 from oil to coal burning. With a capacity of 99,6 t/h.

The starting point for the conversion to biomass was that changes made in connection with the instalment of the new grate, should be integrated into the boiler circuit as far as possible. This has been solved by coupling the cooling of the grate to the boiler drum, so no other cooling circuits are needed.

Case 4 – HÖGDALEN – ECONOMISERS P3

Stockholm Exergi

The delivery includes detail design, engineering, procurement, manufacturing and replacement of the existing economizer at Högdalen P3 (Waste to Energy boiler) in Stockholm, Sweden.

Boiler P3 (40 MWth, 36 bar (g), 360 ° C), boiler was commissioned in 1986.

Economizer 1 was  replaced during the August 2020 annual revision.

Voda has improved the existing design of the economizer and eliminated the problems the customer has had with cracks in the welding’s of top collectors.

CASE 5 – NEW SUPER HEATER

AVV-Affaldsselskabet Vendsyssel Vest

In 2018, Voda won the order to replace the superheater SH3 in the waste fired boiler at Hjørring, Denmark. Due to corrosion in the superheaters of the waste-fired boiler, it was necessary to replace some of the OH3 tubes in the boiler.

The supply included:

  • Production drawings and approvals from third part
    • Manufacture of the delivery
    • Dismounting and installation of the superheaters
    • NDT inspection
    • Pressure test (Voda assisted with equipment and manpower)
    • Insulation
    • Commissioning
    • Documentation
CASE 6 – ON SITE INCONEL CLADDING—P3 KV1

Tekniska Verken Linköping

VODA’s scope of supply was project management, engineering, design, purchasing, construction and documentation for on-site Inconel cladding (Inconel 625) at boiler panel walls on an existing waste to energy fired boiler, Boiler 3, KV1, Tekniska Verken in Linköping.

The cladding was performed in the bottom part of the furnace/1. pass including , including  part of the rear, left, right and front wall.

The cladding area was approx. 260 m2 extended area.
